Why it is free
The honest answer: Opus does not make money right now.
I built Opus because small stores need something between a shared inbox and an enterprise returns platform. Many do not process enough returns to justify another subscription, but handling every request through email still wastes time.
The goal right now is to help the first 100 real stores, learn what they actually need, and build a track record as a Shopify developer. Opus is inexpensive to run, so I would rather earn trust before asking merchants to pay.
Optional paid features may come later if the app grows. Everything available today is free, with no paid plan, gated trial, or credit card.

How do you make money if the app is free?
Right now, we do not. Opus was built to earn merchant trust, learn from real stores, and build a reputation as a Shopify developer. The upkeep is manageable. Optional paid features may be added as the app grows, but every feature in the app today is free.
Who is Opus built for?
Opus is made for small Shopify stores, especially apparel, footwear, accessories, and other businesses that handle sizing or product exchanges. It is a practical fit for stores still managing returns through email or that do not need an enterprise returns platform.
How long does setup take?
Most merchants can complete the core setup in about a minute. Opus includes ready-made storefront entry points and simple controls for text, color, and position. No developer is required.
Can customers request exchanges as well as returns?
Yes. Customers can submit return and exchange requests through the portal, and the merchant can review and manage each request in Shopify admin.
